CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER OF ENERSIS IS AWARDED PRIZE FOR THE “BEST GRADUATE” IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION BY THE UNIVERSITY OF CHILE
Alfredo Ergas, Chief Financial Officer, was honored as the best graduate in the finance area at the prize-giving ceremony that took place during the annual dinner held by the Business Administration Students Center (CEIC).
Alfredo Ergas, Chief Financial Officer of Enersis was awarded the “2006 Most Outstanding Graduate Prize” in the finance area of the business administration university course. This recognition took place during the annual gala dinner held by the Business Administration Students Center (CEIC) of the University of Chile, organized jointly with the university’s Economics and Business Faculty.
The ceremony took place this evening at the CasaPiedra conference center and included a moment of recognition of graduates from previous years. There were 800 people present, including students and graduates that today stand out in the financial and business world.
In addition to Ergas, other eminent outstanding graduates from the economics and business world also received awards: Agustín Solari of Falabella, Víctor Irmas of Prontomatic, Marisol Bravo of CCU, Rodrigo Valdés of the Central Bank and Alberto Arenas of the Budgetary Directorate.
On awarding these prizes, consideration was given to the track record, achievements and ethics employed in carrying out their professional functions in the corporate world.
Alfredo Ergas graduated in Business Administration in 1989, the year in which he commenced his working life as head of the money desk of the Banco de Santiago’s Stock Brokers, a position he held until 1993 when he joined Endesa Chile as project head in the International Development Management. Subsequently, he was appointed sub-manager finance (1995), the same position occupied two years later in Enersis. Later, he was named Planning and Control Manager of Enersis.
In 2000 he was appointed Manager of the Finance and Administration Division of the telecommunications company, Smartcom, returning to Endesa Chile as Finance Manager in 2002. Since July 2003, he has been the Chief Financial Officer of Enersis. He is also a Director of Codensa, Elesur, Enersis Internacional, Chilectra Internacional, Compañía Eléctrica Cono Sur, Endesa Chile Internacional and Inversiones GasAtacama Holding Ltda., all subsidiaries or affiliates of Enersis.Franco Parisi, vice decano of the university’s Economics and Business Faculty, give the prize to Alfredo Ergas.
